This quote speaks to my own abstract art and my attempts to ‘make visible’ the hidden images of our environment and experience. My most current abstract oil paintings uncover the often unseen forms found within the tree canopy. Through an interplay of form, line and color, I’m interested in revealing contradictory concepts such as movement within stillness, familiarity yet surprise, and consistency in chaos.  While my paintings are initially carefully structured, they are also strongly informed by the artistic spontaneity that occurs during my painting process.
